A 70s (not 1970s, but 1770s) inspired comedy featuring a single bachelor, Malcolm.
In this introductory pilot episode, we see a depressed lonely Malcolm working alone in his designated carrel at SLEX insurance. Malcolm is not happy with his job or his life, questioning the purpose of everything he does and is constantly having severe migraines. (This entire introductory sequence is shot entirely in grayscale to emphasise the mundaneness of Malcolm's life.)
One day, Malcolm decides to get his migraines checked at his GP. His GP informs him that he has rare medical condition called Zeuslaria, and cures him by cutting his headache, only to be release and be greeted by a small, mischief but street smart girl by the name of Athena. (Upon the releasing of Athena, the screen is filled with colour.)
We join Malcolm and Athena on their misadventures as Malcolm tries to teach Athena how things run in the real world. And along these misadventures, Malcolm will finally discover his purpose in life.
Oh Athena! You're breaking my heart. is shot in front of a live studio audience with (un)necessary canned laughter.
Malcolm needs to change his name. Hasn't he heard of nominative determinism? Don't worry, I haven't either.
